Over on Amazon, John “Flammo” took up my challenge to get specific about his statements of “inaccuracies” in my sister’s recent book Prophet’s Daughter.
“May God have mercy on your soul.” Eternal threats of hellfire are always a nice refuge when facts are in short supply. Not a single example of an error or refutation of a word Erin said. Amazing.
It is to Erin’s credit that she did a decade of research, and consulted a wide range of sources both within our family and outside of it. Her book is factually unimpeachable when it comes to its representation of the lives of our parents and the church they founded.
The old religious canard “You can’t prove God doesn’t exist” gets thrown down like a trump card. No we can’t prove that. And we don’t have to. Because the entire concept of negative proof is sophistry.
It’s one thing to be vaguely aware that psychic mediums exist. It’s another to actually experience their unctuous condescension in person. And it’s stranger still to be set upon by their followers.
